Akrotiri and Dhekelia, two British sovereign base areas located on the island of Cyprus, are the only British Overseas Territories that officially use the euro (€) as their currency. Despite being under full British sovereignty, they do not use the British pound sterling (£) like other territories such as Gibraltar or the Falkland Islands.
